Looking back, I’d have to say my detox journey began long before I realised the need to do it. Sitting in an undergrad biochemistry lecture in the mid-seventies, I first heard of the storage of toxins in human body fat. Our lecturer described how the fat-soluble toxins, such as pesticides and drugs, were released into the bloodstream when a human broke down fat by fasting or exercise. It could result in neurological symptoms and even serious damage to organs and tissues as the poisons travelled through the blood on their way out of the body. I always remembered that lecture.
